How to Retire Happy

  • Author: Stan Hinden
  • Publisher: McGraw-Hill Professional Publishing, 288 pages

This exceptionally well-written primer, from the former retirement writer for the Washington Post, is in its fourth edition. Hinden completed the first edition when he was 63 years old and approaching retirement in 2008. But at the ripe old age of 72, he’s still at it, continuing to revise and update his advice. The result is a journal of sorts, a fresh and unfolding exploration of what he got right and what he thought he knew but didn’t. The material is a gift in the hands of Hinden, who can translate such mind-numbing concepts such as Social Security claiming strategies into clear, conversational prose. Valuable and entertaining. Both a New York Times and Washington Post Best Seller.
